The patches I have shared so far have used Edgar Rothemich’s cable coloring convention (see the book section of for a review of his book). While looking at the modules in the “Library” section of vcvrack.com, I found some fun modules from Modular Fungi. The modules are a set of Blank panels for the VCV…
One of the Blank panels I found was a color coding convention for the patch cables. The convention is…
Color | Function |
---|---|
Red | Audio |
Blue | Clock / Trigger / Gate |
Yellow | Voltage per Octave |
Green | Modulation |
I will use this Blank panel on all future patches. This will make it easier to understand the flow of the patch and it’s functionality.
One of the things I learned when using the VCV Rack Library is that when you subscribe to a module you may get one module or you may get a lot of modules from the Brand / Author. With Modular Fungi you get a lot of Blank modules with nice designs as well as a fun “when the lights are out” oscilloscope.
While the Modular Fungi modules are “free”, a donation is suggested.
