Article is about the VCV Rack default modules and a hidden feature of the VCV Rack 8VERT module.
VCV Rack comes with some default modules. Version v1.1.6 is the current version. The manual https://vcvrack.com/manual/ has documentation about the Core modules. I stumbled upon another set of documentation where the Core modules are called Fundamental modules. You can find the Fundamental module documentation here https://vcvrack.com/Fundamental
According to the documentation the High Pass Filter (HPF) in the VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter) module has not been implemented yet. The Fundamental module documentation page shows a PULSES module which was not included in the v1.1..6 download. The PULSES module provides 10 trigger and gate signals. You can obtain this free module by registering on VCV Rack and going to the Library section and searching on VCV.
I was looking for a module that had a knob that would put out a voltage. The 8VERT module has this as a somewhat “hidden” feature. 8VERT is mainly used as 8 attenuators (that can also reach negative values) and can be used as a volume control (and other things). The “hidden” feature is that if there is no input, the knob can be used as a -10 volt to +10 volt control knob.
